A family winery in the Pannonhalma Wine Region — where every drop of wine has a soul!
When our winery was born, we set ourselves one goal: to make wines that faithfully reflect the unique terroir of the Pannonhalma Wine Region and the character of the grapes.
We still think the same way today — we make “honest” wines, taking great care over every single one and striving to give everyone who drinks them the best possible experience. We believe that good wine is the joint creation of nature, knowledge and time.
Since the early 1990s, the family’s life has been bound up with vines and wine. The winery’s two winemakers are Ács György, who brings decades of experience, and Edina, who brings fresh energy to the winemaking.
The family farms 9 hectares, and our vineyards lie on well-situated slopes in Győrújbarát. Over the past two decades we have replanted the entire estate, which also meant renewing our mix of varieties: alongside Welschriesling, typical of the region, we have added Irsai Olivér, Cserszegi Fűszeres, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt and Merlot. Our white wines are typically fresh, crisp, reductive wines, mostly single-variety, while barrel-aged whites, rosé and premium red wines round out the range.
We take great care in growing and tending our grapes, because good wine can only be made from healthy, top-quality fruit. We strive to preserve the family feel and personal character of the winery where, as our motto says, “every drop of wine has a soul”, and to make wines year after year that leave wine lovers reaching for another glass.
Our winery is run by one family — each of us brings something different to the work, but we all share the same passion.
He dreamed up and founded the winery in the 1990s. He is the one who — without much exaggeration — knows every single vine on the estate. He takes great care of the vineyards, and in the cellar he now makes the wines together with his daughter, Edina. With decades of experience, he watches over the quality of the wines.
Representing the next generation, she has taken over the running of the winery. She did not originally set out to become a winemaker, but her interest in vines and wine, and her urge to create, led her down this path. It became ever clearer that she wanted to go deeper than presenting wines: she wanted to be part of their creation too.
After training as a winemaker at the Soós István Technical School of Winemaking, she completed the specialist engineer/adviser programme in viticulture and wine management at MATE, and since 2019 she has been making the wines together with her father. Alongside winemaking, she takes care of marketing and does literally “everything” the winery needs to run — from cellar work and bottling to wine tastings and events. In her hands, tradition meets fresh energy.
She is the driving force of the family and also does the all-important work behind the scenes: administration, reports and invoicing. On top of that, bottling and deliveries are largely her job too.
Although she works as a lawyer, she is always happy to help with pouring and selling at wine tastings and festivals, or even with smaller jobs in the cellar.
